Slowpitch Scorekeeper
Keep score at slowpitch softball games from your phone. Set up your players, teams and seasons, pick a batting order, then record each play as it happens: hits, outs, runners moving up, runs, errors and substitutions, with undo when you tap the wrong thing. Every player's batting, fielding and pitching stats add up as you go, by game, season, team or career. Your league stays on your device, and there is no account.
Running this app
- This app is made for a phone at the field, and works on a tablet or computer too.
- You can access this app by selecting the "Open Slowpitch Scorekeeper" button above. Once the app is open you can also install a local version of the app called a "PWA" if you want a shortcut to it on your home screen. Alternatively, you can download this app as an HTML file to open offline.
Internet access
- Only required to open or download the app. Scoring, stats and backups all work with no connection, so a field with no signal is fine once the app is installed or downloaded.
Data
- Everything you enter stays on your device, in your browser: players, teams, seasons, lineups, every play and the stats worked out from them. There is no account, and none of it is sent to us or anyone else.
- When you first save something, the app asks your browser not to clear its data automatically if your device runs low on space; the browser decides, and Settings shows its answer. Clearing your browser's site data yourself still erases everything, so use "Export data as JSON" in Settings to keep a backup file.
- Importing a backup reads the file on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
Licence
- MIT: use it for anything, including at work. Keep the copyright notice and licence text with any copy you pass on. Read the licence
- Built with, and containing: React and ReactDOM (MIT), Caprasimo font (SIL Open Font License 1.1), Figtree font (SIL Open Font License 1.1). Their licences ship inside the downloaded file.
How to use it
- Add your players and a team. Under Seasons, add a season: the league, the year and the type (pre-season, regular season, tournament or playoffs), such as Little Mountain 2026 Regular Season. Then add the season to the team and pick its roster.
- When a season is over, archive it from the Seasons page; a team you no longer keep score for can be archived from the Teams page. Their games and stats stay, but they are no longer offered for new games. Reactivate either any time.
- Under Games, add a game: the opponent, the date (today, unless you change it), whether you bat first, and the batting order. Tap a player to set their fielding position.
- Press Start game. For each batter, tap how the play ended (a base, or how they were out), move any runners, then Save play. Undo takes back the last play.
- When you are in the field, record the outs, errors and runs against. End the inning when it is over, and end the game to make the score final.
- Open Statistics to see batting (at-bats, hits, singles, doubles, triples, home runs, runs, RBI, walks and average), fielding and pitching numbers by game, season, team or a player's career.
Worth knowing
- Your league lives in one browser on one device. The installed app, the downloaded HTML file and another browser each keep their own; use Export and Import in Settings to move between them, or to hand the scorebook to someone else.
- Importing a backup replaces everything in the app rather than merging with it. You are asked to confirm first.
